About The Event
St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School presents Wanderlust.
Opening Reception Tuesday June 11th, 6-9 pm
Curiosity and the pleasure we experience through discovering the unfamiliar is embedded in human evolutionary history. Similarly, the act of creating art is a mysterious and often gratifying impulse that allows us to express our feelings, share our stories and interpret the world around us. Art gives us permission to recognize the beauty in the mundane and grow intuitively and spiritually. It is a universal language that fulfils many purposes.
Our exhibition entitled “Wanderlust” consists of paintings, drawings and multi-media projects that reflect various ideas, fears, opinions and interpretations of beauty. It is a collection of a year long journey of art making, experimentation, soul-searching and student learning. The process of creating art is a journey in itself because it compels individuals to explore their imaginations, push their creative boundaries and discover new ways of seeing.
