About The Event
A group of local actors will be reading two new plays: Mrs. Kray by Christen Shepherd and Dead Meat by Tyler Graham. After each reading, we will open up a discussion and ask for your feedback on the play. The playwrights will use this feedback to improve their work and create a stage-ready final draft!
Mrs. Kray By Christen Shepherd
The Kray twins were convicted for murder in the East End of London, England in 1969. Their mother, Violet Kray, maintained their innocence until the day of her death, despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary. This is her story.
Dead Meat By Tyler Graham Michael and Eddie quit their horrifying jobs at the slaughterhouse, hoping to kickstart their dream career as YouTube video producers. With the help of a cockroach puppet named Richie, and a string of dumb luck, they soon learn that YouTube may be the most horrific workplace of all.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Canadian Mental Health Association Middlesex.Â
