About The Event

Come learn the art of painting the landscape out in the open air, also known as “plein air.” Visiting

Gibbon’s Park, we will discuss how to simplify the array of information when faced with painting a landscape on sight. We will learn how to block in major shapes then alter these shapes to transform them into stunning landscapes. If you are interested in simplifying the painting process and painting more rapidly, this may be the course for you.

(PLEASE NOTE: we will be meeting in Gibbons Park Grosvenor St. entrance down the hill right from the beginning. In the event of rain, please have a back up landscape photo ready to work from in the studio at TAP. We will inform students in advance should this occur.)

About the instructor:

Paul Abeleira is a graduate of Western’s Visual Arts program. He continues his own studies in still life and portraiture in workshops  in New York, Wisconsin and Arizona, and has instructed artists in many facets of visual arts. Paul has taught at TAP for over 10 years and has received positive responses from his students who characterize him as a sensitive coach with a broad range of skills and knowledge. He is committed to making the learning experience worthwhile.
