About The Event

Metal and glass subjects have been a favorite for still life painters for centuries and they are

certainly among the most impressive when painted well. They are however among the most

challenging subjects to paint. In this course we will practice using small, simple set ups using a

variety of metal and glass objects. Shiny silver, brass, copper and pewter along with a variety of

colored glass will be the focus of our subjects. We will explore secrets and strategies for

blocking in, modeling and how to apply those highlights that are so critical to achieving that

shiny look.
