About The Event
Opening Reception: October 22nd, 6-8pm
When my mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's, I realized just how short life can be. Preserving memories and extending gratitude for the beauty that surrounds us is the theme of my exhibition:” Lost in Thought”. I invite you to imagine and experience things anew. Revel in the details we miss if we rush through life hurried and lost in thought. All of my pieces are painted with acrylics with touches of mixed media. Abstract in nature, but meant to tell a story, evoke thought, and stimulate conversation.
Scientifically minded, while artistic and warm-hearted. That is how I would describe myself. This combination of attributes is what helps me bring a strong attention to detail to each of my paintings, mixed with a sense of emotion and wonder. Through acrylics and varied textures, I boldly stretch glimpses of natural reality and push them across the canvas in a way that forces me to see what I have forgotten; vividly re-experiencing it for the very first time. I remind myself what a spectacular gift it is to be able to observe, appreciate, and stand in awe of things that typically pass me by in a hurried modern life.
