Join us for an opportunity to learn how to paint fall flowers using oils. This 2 class course will take place Thursdays, September 19 & 26 from 6PM - 9PM.

About The Event
Learn to paint lush fall flowers in oils in this 2-session workshop. Working from life, we will explore colour theory, composition, design and paint application. We will also practice simplifying the subject so that painting them will feel more effortless. If you love floral painting but struggle to bring them to a convincing finish, this might be the class for you.
About the instructor
Paul Abeleira is a graduate of Western’s Visual Arts program. He continues his own studies in still life and portraiture in workshops in New York, Wisconsin and Arizona, and has instructed artists in many facets of visual arts. Paul has taught at TAP for over 10 years and has received positive responses from his students who characterize him as a sensitive coach with a broad range of skills and knowledge. He is committed to making the learning experience worthwhile.

OIL COLOURS – This list is a guide of oil colours for the class. If you have similar colours they will suffice also. Water mixable oils welcome.

Two #6 hog hair bristle flats
Two #4 hog hair bristle flats
Two #2 hog hair bristle or synthetic flats
ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
Two canvases, 12”x16” or similar size, stretched or boards welcome
Wooden Palette (at least 12”x16”)
Odorless Thinner
Linseed Oil (or similar oil)
Brush Washer (or jar for thinner/water)
Paper Towels/Rags
Palette Knife
