About The Event
Learn the anatomy of the human head as we work from live models using charcoals in this new four week course. Abandoning the fuss of oil paints, students will have the opportunity to better focus on the ever critical importance of structure, basic planes of the head and the effect of light on the sitter. We will also explore handling techniques to achieve roundness of form, preparing the head for placement of the features and adding just enough details to achieve a stunning human likeness. This course is essential preparation for anyone pursuing future studies in oil portraiture.
