Instructor: Awadh Baryoum

Location: Studio 3D

In this 6-week program students will expand their drawing skills with an in-depth exploration of the formal elements of drawing such as line, value, gesture, space and composition. The format for this class will allow for a more independent approach to experimental drawing that will encourage expressiveness and creativity. Students will be working from a variety of materials including still life and live subjects.

About the Instructor:

Awadh Baryoum work has been exhibited nationally internationally. He has received numerous accolades throughout his career, among them a Fulbright Scholarship.  He was featured alongside prominent artists Dale Chihuly, Chuck Close, Louise Bourgeois, and Richard Serra in “Art Educates the World”, an exhibition and auction benefiting future Fulbright scholars at Sotheby’s New York in 2002.  In 2016, he was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Hunting Art Prize for the fourth year. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1997. Baryoum now lives in London, Ontario, Canada where he creates and teaches art.
