Drawing Elements

In this 3-session programme students will expand their drawing skills with an in-depth exploration of the formal elements of drawing such as line, value, gesture, space and composition. The format for this class will allow for a more independent approach to experimental drawing that will encourage expressiveness and creativity. Students will be working from a variety of materials including still life and from a live model.

Students will be required to bring a drawing pad, graphite pencils and/or charcoal the first week. Materials for subsequent classes will be identified by the approach and interest of the student.

About the Instructor - Awadh Baryoum is a London-based visual artist and art educator. He received an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a BA from the University of Aden. He is also a recipient of a Fulbright scholarship. Baryoum has exhibited his art extensively in the United States.
