Drawing Basics: the essentials of good drawing - Good drawing fundamentals are an essential tool for all artists. This 4-week program is designed for beginners, as well as those who wish to improve their drawing skills. Using graphite, students will learn how to draw what they see by observing still life objects. Techniques in perspective, line, shading, and value will be demonstrated and explored through exercises and practice work. Students will develop a solid drawing foundation and be more confident in their skills.

About the Instructor - Awadh Baryoum's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. He has received numerous accolades throughout his career, among them a Fulbright Scholarship.  He was featured alongside prominent artists Dale Chihuly, Chuck Close, Louise Bourgeois, and Richard Serra in “Art Educates the World”, an exhibition and auction benefiting future Fulbright scholars at Sotheby’s New York in 2002.  In 2016, he was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Hunting Art Prize for the fourth year. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1997. Baryoum now lives in London, Ontario, Canada where he creates and teaches art.
