Drawing Basics II: The Next Step

Drawing Basics II is the continuation of our essential Drawing Basics course and is designed for those who had a chance to participate and enjoyed learning the fundamental skills of perspective, line, shading, and value; and now wish to continue their drawing journey. In this 3-week course students will be building on the knowledge they have obtained in previous courses to advance their skills with an in-depth studio exploration of tonal value, shape, texture, and proportion.  Suggested prerequisite: Drawing Basics or equivalent.

About the Instructor:

Awadh Baryoum is a London-based visual artist and art educator. He received an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a BA from the University of Aden. He is also a recipient of a Fulbright scholarship. Baryoum has exhibited his art extensively in the United States.

Materials:

-          Graphite pencils: HB, 2B, 4B, 8B

-          Kneadable eraser

-          Gum eraser

-          Drawing pad, 24”x 18”

-          Newsprint pad, 24”x18”
